Andy Wilson Mask, 77, resident of Tippah County passed away peacefully Saturday Evening June 29, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in New Albany surrounded by loved ones.

Services celebrating the life of Mr. Andy will be at 12 Noon on Saturday July 6, 2024, in the Heritage Chapel of the Ripley Funeral Home with a visitation for friends and family beginning at 10 AM until time of service. Ripley Funeral Home will be handling all the arrangements.

Mr. Andy was born July 16, 1947, in Tippah County to the late Woodrow Wilson and Nettie Pannell Mask and was a graduate of Pine Grove High School. A hard worker, he was a truck driver in earlier years, before becoming employed with Blue Mountain Production for nineteen years, until his retirement. On September 5, 1987, he married to his beloved wife, Mary Thurmond Mask, where together they lived and loved life, dedicated their time to each other and always stood by each other’s side.

A Christian, Mr. Andy’s favorite pastimes included, hunting, fishing, being outdoors working on his tractor, and staying very active, by walking up to five miles daily and exercising often. His community meant a lot to him, as he knew he could always rely on his neighbors and friends Doug and Linda Miller and Vickie McDaniel’s family to be there to help at any time. He cared for his family most and loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Every Friday night he looked forward to “Papaw Time” with “Kay Bug” and Saturday morning breakfast. Andy knew the true riches in life was keeping things simple, working hard, helping your neighbors, supporting and loving your family, and trusting the Lord with all your heart.

Those left to cherish his memories include his wife and soulmate of thirty-six years, Mary Thurmond Mask, two daughters, Miranda Cook (John), and Cindy Rutherford (Cody), two sons, Danny Mask (Shea), and Ricky Price (Jackie), fourteen grandchildren, Greg Cook, Anna Cook, Abby Cook, Ben Cook, Jarret Greer, Madison Schweppe, Clara Greer, Kaitlyn Richardson, Ryan Rutherford, Karmen Brown, Ashley Carpenter, Hunter Stubblefield, Daniel Stubblefield, and Kaylee Rutherford, and nine great grandchildren.

He is also preceded in death by his parents, one son, Jason Stubblefield, and his sister, Essie Wilbanks.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Mr. Andy’s neighbors and friends, Doug and Linda Miller, and Vickie McDaniel and her family for always being there to help out, and also the nurses and staff of Baptist Memorial Hospital in New Albany for the love and care shown to them during this difficult time.
