Andrew William Haviland, 81, of Decatur, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at Decatur Morgan Hospital in Decatur, Alabama. A Memorial Service will be held in Michigan at a later date and time.
Mr. Haviland was born in Centerline, Michigan on January 24, 1943 to Vesta Francis and Doris Ida Ackerson Haviland. He later became a Crane Operator for General Motors in the automotive industry.
Andrew was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. His kindness and love will endure in the hearts of all who knew him. Although we mourn his passing, we take comfort in knowing that he has been reunited with his loved ones in the embrace of eternal peace.
Mr. Haviland was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Wanda Lee Haviland; and daughter, Debbie Lynn Eldred.
Mr. Haviland is survived by five of his children, Jeff (Mary) Haviland, Charles Cook, James “Jim” (Jennifer) Haviland, Thomas (Chris) Haviland, and Andrew William Haviland; sister, Janice (James) Wood; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
