Mr. Andrew TurnerAndrew “Pie” Turner, born December 15, 1936, in Madison County, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents Fulton and Georgia Turner and his sister, Daisy Pearl Watts. He was educated in the Madison County School system. Immediately following High School, because of his passion to see the world, he joined the United States Army. Upon his move to Louisville, Kentucky he became a member of Greater Good Hope Church and later joined Portland Memorial Missionary Baptist Church. Like his grandfathers and uncles before him, he was also a Mason (so mote it be) during his later years in Louisville.

During his time in Louisville, he became known for his flair for always being the best dressed, and the life of the party. But most of all he was known for the love of his family and his overall generosity.

He was an entrepreneur who owned his own construction     company, specializing in Masonry work. He was an avid traveler, a sports enthusiast which included his beloved Louisville Cardinals and attending horse races at Churchill Downs. He had a special talent for choosing the winning horses, especially during the annual Louisville Kentucky Derby.

He leaves to cherish his memory, son, Reginald Lavar Turner; a granddaughter, Rhia LaNae Turner; sisters: Thelma Hardin, Barbra Friend, Joyce (Arnold) DuHamell, Ann Finley, and Gwendolyn (Anthony) Lacy; special nieces: Tonia Porter, Tara Ford, and Ali Kelly; aunts, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
