Andrew Gene “Andy” Jackson, 70, died Friday, September 1, 2023 at NHC Columbia.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Donnie Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 12:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home.

Born March 17, 1953, in Maury County, he was the first of five children of the late B. H. Jackson and the late Mary Ann Jackson Deen. Andy never met a stranger and he spent his life helping others. As a young man, he was a volunteer with the Maury County Civil Defense. He later became a Park Ranger for Maury County. Mr. Jackson graduated the Tennessee Law Enforcement Academy in 1994 and retired as a Lieutenant from the Maury County Sheriff’s office in 2019. During this time, he was elected to serve on the Maury County Commission for several years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and good friends Donnie and Gerald.
Those left to cherish their memories of Andy are his children, Nick (Sarah), Victoria (Jeff), Nathan; ten grandchildren; siblings, Linda, Debbie (Jackie), Jill (Doug), Terri (Jeff), Riley; step father, Martin Deen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Jackson.
