Mr. Andrew “Andy” Ray Hunter, age 75, of Hohenwald, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2015.

Andy was born on February 9, 1940 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Joseph Russell Hunter and Mable Burke Hunter. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked in the grocery industry for many years having been employed at Ralph’s Supermarket in Los Angeles, CA. Additionally, he was a meat cutter for many years at Kroger in Columbia, Tennessee. On April 24, 1975 Andy married the love of his life, Mabel Early Hunter. He loved NASCAR and was a dirt track fan in Hohenwald, Tennessee.

Andy is survived by his wife: Mabel Early Hunter of Hohenwald, TN; children: Audrey (Sam) Hunter of Long Beach, CA, Angela (Daven) Collins of Summertown, TN, Charles “Chuck” (Darlene) Alexander of Southhaven, MS and Angela Littlejohn of Memphis, TN; grandchildren: Nathan, Kevin, Allen, Nicholas, Chris, Justin, Jacob, Cheyenne, Alexis and Adreana; numerous nieces and nephews; brother: Joseph Leon Hunter; and his best friend: Grizzley. He was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph Russel and Mable Burke Hunter; siblings: Bill Hunter, Dot Hunter Patterson and Peggy Hunter Skillern; and his grand-daughter: Shaunna.

A graveside memorial service celebrating the life of Mr. Hunter will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 12:00 Noon at Arlington Cemetery with Bro. Nick Alexander officiating.

The family would like to give special thanks to Scott and Keturha Jones and Ronnie and Susan Ray for their care and kindness during Andy’s illness.
