FLORENCE-Mary Ann Casey is a writer, painter, and sculptor from Auburn, Alabama; a collection of her paintings will be displayed at Kennedy-Douglass Center for the Arts from January 29th-February 17th. Born and raised in the deep South, Casey’s expressive, contemporary paintings are portrayed through a variety of media. Her work has been displayed throughout the South, including the Wiregrass Art Museum in Dothan, AL, the Johnson Center for the Arts in Troy, AL, and the African American Museum in Dallas, TX.
Casey hopes that the paintings in this collection “become a collaboration between me and my viewers…I surrender my spirit to a sense of energy, love, oneness, hope and peace.”
