Amos McCray George Jr, age 65 of Huntland, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Harvey, Illinois on May 19, 1957, to the late Amos McCray and Inez (Roberts) George Sr. Amos was a skilled carpenter who took pride in making beautiful cabinets. He enjoyed fishing and cheering on the Celtics basketball team. But most of all, he cherished the time spent going to the family cabin hunting with his father and son. Amos loved his wife and children dearly and had a smile that would brighten up the room. He is survived by his loving wife of forty-six years, Cheryl George of Huntland; daughter, Traci (Vance) Wood; son, Chris George; grandchildren, Carley George, McKinley Wood, and Aayson George; sisters, Martha Dishong, Patsy Edwards, and Laurie Stewman; and several nieces and nephews.
