It is with great sadness that the family of Alyce Lynn Albright announces her passing on January 9th, 2023, at the age of 61. Alyce was born on January 10, 1961, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to Reverend Johnny Albright and Hazel Bardon Albright. As the daughter of a Methodist preacher, Alyce grew up surrounded by a strong community of faith and love.
Alyce attended many schools throughout her childhood and made friends everywhere she went. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to all who knew her. Despite living with multiple sclerosis, Alyce was determined to work and provide for her loved ones. She spent ten years working at SCI and was never one to give up or let her illness get in the way of her goals.
Alyce had many passions in life, including crocheting and computers. She was a gifted crafter and loved to create beautiful items for the people in her life. She also loved technology and spent many hours learning and exploring all it had to offer.
Alyce was also a very thoughtful and caring person. She was always thinking of others and their needs and went out of her way to help whenever possible. Her generosity and kindness will be greatly missed by all who knew her at the Gurley Library, where she volunteered.
Alyce will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by her family, friends, and the entire community. May she rest in peace with Jesus and be reunited with her loved ones who have passed before her. Alyce is preceded in death by her father, Rev. Johnny Albright, Grandparents, Obbie & Laura Albright, and Thomas & Ada Bardon.
She is survived by her mother, Hazel Albright of Decatur, Alabama, sister Laurie Black (Gene) of Goin, Alabama, brothers Timmy Albright (Julie), of Decatur, Alabama, Perry Albright (Melissa) of Madison, Alabama, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends.
A memorial service will be held Thursday January, 12th at Southside Baptist Church in Decatur. The address is 709 9th street SE Decatur, Alabama 35601. Reverend Eric Albright will officiate the service at 11:00 AM.
