Alvis Jule Morrison, known as “Pop” to those who knew and loved him, passed away peacefully March 23, 2023, in Tippah County surrounded by loved ones.
Funeral Services honoring the life of Mr. Morrison will be 1 PM, Tuesday March 28, 2023, in the Heritage Chapel of The Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. W. C. Alexander and Bro. Mike Floyd officiating.
One of twelve children, Mr. Morrison was born August 1, 1933, to the late Ira Austin and Thelma Mae Garland Morrison. Raised on a farm in Tippah County, he received his education from Pine Grove High School and was a Truck Driver for most of his life. Mr. Morrison hauled many loads of cement and gravel and was employed as a Bus Driver with Timber Hills for ten years before his retirement.
A Christian, Mr. Morrison found pleasure in fishing, camping, and keeping up with wrestling and sports on television. When able he loved nothing more than to hook his wagon to his horses and go for a ride. He could often be found sitting under an old shade tree enjoying the outdoors or surrounded by his much-adored grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. A simple man, Pop lived a good full life and will long be remembered by his loving family and wide circle of friends.
Visitation will be 5 PM until 8 PM, Monday March 27, 2023 at Ripley Funeral Home.
Those left to cherish memories include two daughters, Alice Benefield and Kim Brumley(Terry), two sons, Billy Morrison and Larry Wayne Morrison, one sister, Lenis Mullins, one brother, Wayne Morrison(Dianne), eleven grandchildren, Tracy Mcdaniels(Toady), Jennie Collier(Bo), Milinda Floyd(Mike), David Estes(Jessica), Al Roberts(Nicole), Heather Curtis(Logan), Jessie Morrison(Hunter), Josh Brumley(Brittany), Wesley Brumley(Melanie), Hunter Brumley, and Christy Greer, thirty nine great grandchildren, and nine great great grandchildren.
He is also preceded in death by four sisters, Ive, Lilly, Virginia, and Rubie, and five brothers, Roy, Vertis, Alvie, James, and Curtis.
