Alvin Wilson was born July 12, 1932 in Chester County, TN, the son of the late Ulyses Wilson and Jeroline Ray Wilson.

He was united in marriage to Mary Graham on November 3, 1951. Mrs. Wilson preceded him in death on May 22, 2015. He served our country in the U. S. Army. Alvin taught school for many years before becoming a principal at Michie School and then at Bethel Springs School. He continued in education until he retired. He served on the McNairy County School Board and was a member of National Teachers Association and Tennessee Education Association. He enjoyed going to cattle sales and watching baseball. Alvin loved his family, spending time with his grandchildren and taking care of his wife’s dog, Old Yeller.

Mr. Wilson departed this life on July 19, 2020 in Humboldt, Tennessee at the age of 88 Years, 8 Days.

He is survived by two sons, John Wilson and wife Reba of Selmer, TN, Jimmy Wilson and wife Janice of Selmer, TN; five grandchildren: Adam Wilson and wife Leann of Bethel Springs, TN, Andy Wilson of Selmer, TN, Andrea Kuchta and husband George of Dickson, TN, Jenna Foote and husband Adam of Adamsville, TN, Amy Gee and husband Matthew of Selmer, TN; seven great grandchildren: Kinley Wilson, Hunter Wilson, Haylee Wilson, Caroline Kuchta, Kash Kuchta, Aleah Gee and Colby Gee; brother, Eugene Wilson and wife Margaret of Bethel Springs, TN; sister, Frances Murray of Bethel Springs, TN.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by brother, Harold Wilson; Sister, Jessie Murray; two brothers-in-law, Tom and Gordan Murray.
The family requests that visitors observe social distancing guidelines and wear masks to the visitation and service.
