Brother Alvin Jones Profile PhotoBrother Alvin Jones, born on July 14, 1931, in Johnson City, TN, was the son of the late Alvin and Agnes Spaller Jones. He entered eternal rest on September 26, 2024, in Adamsville, Tennessee, at the age of 93.

Brother Jones was united in marriage to Sarah Louella Dugger, who preceded him in death on October 15, 2009. He dedicated over 65 years of his life to pastoral service, impacting churches across Grundy, VA, and all 3 regions of Tennessee. In addition to his pastoral duties, he contributed to his community by working at a funeral home, owning a service station alongside his son, and serving as a substitute teacher at Bethel Springs Elementary School.

His diverse interests included holding a pilot license, playing the guitar, and folding money into creative shapes, such as shirts and bowties. Brother Jones had a genuine affection for people and relished every opportunity to engage in conversation with those he encountered.

He is survived by his son, Doug Jones of Selmer, TN; two daughters, Sandra Fraker of Adamsville, TN, and Deborah Minton and her husband Steve of Joelton, TN; five grandchildren, Danielle Wiggins and husband Michael, Bradley Maupin, Anthony Maupin and wife Monica, Nicole Hanks and husband Steve, and Robert Minton and wife Erin; along with 12 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren, as well as a large circle of extended family and friends.

In addition to his wife and parents, Brother Jones was preceded in death by two sisters, Bernice Tipton and Rebecca Barnes, and a brother, David Jones.

Brother Alvin Jones will be remembered for his devotion to his faith, his family, and his unwavering commitment to serving his community. His legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire those who knew him.
