Alvin Dwight “Country” Risner

Alvin Dwight “Country” Risner, 73, of Florence, passed away November 13, 2023. He was a member of the American Legion. He served his country in the US Army for 3 years during the Vietnam Era. Alvin worked for TVA with more than 20 years of service and he was in charge of the crew that restored the power to the North Alabama area after the ice storm of 1993.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 18, 2023 from 11-1 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.

Mr. Risner was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Romie Lee Risner; and a brother, Billy Carmack.

He is survived by his sons, James Risner (Veronica), Jason Risner (Kristel), and Brannon Risner; daughters, Michelle Talley (Jeff), Corie Lee Risner (Whit); brother, Larry Risner; sisters, Cathy Wright, Wanda Burns, MaryLou Weaver (J.D.), and Lee Ann Adams; grandchildren, Zaara Risner, Chelsea Winter, J.T. Talley, and Kathryn Risner; and great-grandchildren, Talynn & Kaiden Winter, and Kate Talley.
