Alvie Gene Timms – Obituary

Alvie Gene Timms, 69, died Friday, March 22, 2013 at NMMC. He was born in Itawamba County, MS to Hollis and Juanita Orear Timms.  He was a born again Christian and attended First Baptist Church in Belmont.  He was a sewing machine mechanic.

 

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 24 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Belmont, MS with Bro. Ray Burks officiating. Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery, Belmont, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.

 

Survivors are his wife of 51 years-Ernestine Timms; son-Tony Timms (Mary) of Saltillo; daughter-Gina Rooker of Belmont; two granddaughters-Kaley Moore and Alivia Rooker; two grandsons-Garrett Rooker and Connor Timms; three brothers-Jimmy Timms and Jerry Timms both of Belmont and Tommy Timms of Bigbee; four sisters-in-law-Juantia Hughes of Bartlett, TN, Virginia “Cookie” Taylor of Memphis, Lorine Brumley of Fulton and Patricia Timms of Golden.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents-Carl and Hattie Orear and C.C. and Willie Timms; two brothers-Larry Wade Timms and Hollis Eugene Timms.

 

Pallbearers will be Royce Hopkins, Ricky Orear, Dwight Tessener, Steve George, Lloyd “Peanut” Rhodes and Tommy Crane.

 

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS and until service time Sunday.
