Mr. Alphonso BenfordMr. Alphonso Benford was born to the late Georgia Mae Benford and the late Emmett Benford on January 6, 1957, in Limestone County.

Alphonso attended Madison County Schools in his early to middle school years. He also attended Sparkman High School in Toney, Alabama. Alphonso was self-employed as a very skilled and talented concrete finisher.

Alphonso was preceded in death by both parents: Georgia and Emmett Benford; siblings: James Wayne Benford, Larry Jones, Michael Benford, Wakus Benford, Charlene Waddle, Shirley Williams: and a son: Derance Benford. He leaves fond and loving memories to: a loving and devoted daughter: Avetra (Jonathan) Nelson of Harvest, AL; three sons: BronTay Benford, Toryell Benford, and Brandon Davis, all of Huntsville, AL; siblings: Carolyn Benford and Shirley Maples of Athens, AL, Stella Hardin of Huntsville, AL, Diann Benford, Scott (Daphne) Benford, and Burt Benford, all of Madison, AL, Angela Benford of Meridianville, AL, and Elizabeth (Thomas) Leis of Nashville, TN; grandkids, great grandkids, and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at the House of Hope of Restoration (2525 Aspen Avenue NW, Huntsville, AL 35810) with Pastor Willie Mangruem officiating. Interment will be in the Meadowlawn Garden of Peace. Mr. Benford will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.

Public viewing will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Monday, July 10, 2023, and 8:30 until 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at the Royal Funeral Home.
