Alma Louise Call Townsley age 87 of Florence passed away on Tuesday November 17, 2015. Visitation will be on Friday November 20, 2015 from Noon till 2:00 P.M. at Elkins Funeral Home of Florence. Services will follow in the chapel at Elkins at 2:00 P.M. with Bobby Graham and Lonell Plyler officiating. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Townsley; parents, William Malcom Call and Jesse P. Richardson Call Porter; step-father, James Walker Porter; and sister, Sarah Townsley.
Alma is survived by three step daughters/neices, Angela Wisdom (Larry), Lisa Foster (Jeff) and Donna Crapps; one sister, Mary Frances Grigsby; nephews, Harold Grigsby, Mac Grigsby, and Steve Grigsby; niece, Beth Ruchti; ten grand-nieces and nephews and six great-grand-nieces and nephews.
She graduated from Lexington High School and Larimore School of Business and worked as a secretary for TVA for 41 years. She was a past member of College View Church of Christ and current member at Underwood Heights Church of Christ. She enjoyed her bowling league and seeing to the sick and needy.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Foster, Mac Grigsby, Steve Grigsby, Harold Grigsby, Jared Crapps, Wesley Grigsby and Tyler Ruchti. Honorary bearers will be Justin Crapps, Jeremiah Crapps, Craig Ruchti, R.L. Richardson and Larry Wisdom.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Amedysis Hospice, Dr. Meredith Pickett and caregivers Diane Cole, Toni Reed and Keonna Reed and Lisa and Jeff Foster who brought her home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
