Alma Irene Mason Wallace, age 87, of Guntersville, Formerly of Huntsville, died on Tuesday August 5, 2014.
Mrs. Wallace was employed at the Metropolitan YMCA for 25 years. She was a devoted wife of a Baptist minister for over 34 years and a member of the Huntsville Bible Church. Mrs. Wallace was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Homer S. and Mary Albany Swafford; her husbands, Charles H. Mason and Edward T. Wallace; her granddaughter, Cynthia R. Gaught; her brothers, William T. Swafford and Nolan H. Swafford; and her sister, Louise McGehee.
Mrs. Wallace is survived by her daughter, Janie H. Bertus and husband Charles; her grandchildren, Marja Moore and husband Tony, and Anthony Keith Howard and friend Thomasine Wright; her sisters, Virginia Counts and Lois Arnold and husband W.C.); 6 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be on Friday August 8, 2014 at 2pm in the chapel of Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville with Pastor Ed Deel and Judge Linda Coats officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on that day from 12pm until 2pm at the funeral home.
