Alma D. Rogers entered her heavenly home on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Bells Nursing and Rehab, surrounded by her family, at the age of 82.

She was born on December 26, 1940, in Blytheville, AR, the daughter of the late Robert Malcolm and Alma Nola McCoy Koonce.

Alma dedicated her working career to Englewood Baptist Church, where she served as the Church Food Service Director for over forty years. Her commitment and dedication to her work were unparalleled, making her an invaluable asset to the church and its congregation.  Throughout her years, Alma consistently displayed a deep passion for assisting those in need, regardless of their circumstances. Her selflessness touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her.

Alma was a beloved member of the Englewood Baptist Church family, where she was a member of the Harvesters Sunday school class and could be described as infectiously positive and sincere.  Her contagious smile warmed the hearts of those around her and served as a constant reminder to find joy in life’s simplest moments.  She along with her late husband were a part of the Funny Few Supper Club.

Alma is survived by her two sons, Harold W. Rogers, Jr. and his wife Susan of Jackson, TN, and Malcolm L. Rogers of Jackson, TN. Her grandson, Hunter Blake Rogers, and great-grandchildren, Hayden and Mason Rogers.

SERVICES:  A funeral service to honor Alma’s life will be held at Englewood Baptist Church at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, October 8, 2023, with Dr. Philip Jett officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 p.m. and continuing until the service time at 4:00 p.m.  A family committal will be held on Monday at Highland Memorial Gardens.

In addition to her parents, Alma is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold Wayne Rogers, Sr., who passed away in 2005, as well as her brother, Jimmy Read Koonce.
