Allie Lee Berry, 90, of Leighton died Friday, August 28, 2015. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at New Sockwell Baptist Church, Leighton, Al. Her funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm at the church with Greg Beasley and Barry Minor officiating. Burial will be at Shaw Cemetery.
Mrs. Berry was a retired cook at Colbert County High School after 16 years of service and a member of New Sockwell Baptist Church.
She preceded in death by her husband; Leonard Berry; parents, James Bentley and Allie Belle Tidwell; brothers, JB and Lois Tidwell; sisters, Nina Johnson, Jennie Bond, Byrdie Jeffreys, and Annie Scott.
She is survived by her daughter, Pauline Minor; sisters, Earline Carter, Orine Stutts, Marie Flanagon, and Eveline Posey; two grandchildren, Frankie and Barry Minor; great-grandson, Tyler Minor; two step-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers include Jared Posey, Danny Nelms, Ben and Lawrence King, and Ben and Mark Tidwell. Honorary pallbearer will be Chris Miller.
