Services for Allean Powell McCutcheon of Waynesboro will be held Monday, October 1, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Josh Stults officiating. Burial will follow in the Culp’s Chapel Cemetery near Clifton with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
A native of Perry County, she was born October 18, 1923, the daughter of the late Andrew Jackson and Nancy Hickerson Powell. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McCutcheon was preceded in death by her husband, John Ross McCutcheon; daughter, Nancy McCutcheon Underwood; sister, Bonnie Powell McCutcheon; two brothers, Coy and Hollis Powell. Mrs. McCutcheon departed this life Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Wayne Care Nursing Home in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 88 Years, 11 Months, 11 Days. She was a homemaker and a member of the Methodist church.
She is survived by a daughter, Avanda McCutcheon Trammell and her husband Glenn of Murfreesboro, TN; son-in-law, Jerry Underwood of Murfreesboro, TN; a sister, Mattie Warrington of Clifton, TN; sister-in-law, Lona Powell of Ethridge, TN; 3 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Family wishes to acknowledge and thank Wayne Care Nursing Home and staff for the loving care they provided to Mrs. McCutcheon for the past 34 years.
