Allan Walton Montgomery, Jr. died April 3, 2022 at University of Washington Medical Center, Seattle, WA. Allan was born in Red Bay, AL and was tested as approaching genius early in grade school. He was diagnosed to have Ausperger Syndrome. He was uniquely able to diagnose problems with electronics simply over the telephone and did so with engineers worldwide. When Microsoft engineers were finished with prototypes, Allan was able to work out any bugs. Many people would discount his great ideas as pipe dreams, yet they were ideas that would come to fruition in the future. A large part of his education was by reading encyclopedias, watching Public Broadcasting System and later U Tube. He attended Firefighter Training School in Mechanicsville, PA, Microsoft’s Training Courses and Firefighting Courses in Beaverton, OR. He was a volunteer with Forest Fire Groups in OR and rural groups in Estacada and Brookings, OR. He received an honorable discharge with medic training from the U.S. Army National Guard. He and his wife owned two small businesses in Seattle where he repaired electronic and electrical appliances. He suffered with diabetes, lost his sight, a leg and had kidney failure. Complications brought heart failure later with organs failing. He passed away with his family and friends by him.
Graveside services and burial were Friday, April 22, at Belmont City Cemetery, Belmont, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS was in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife – Suling Mai Montgomery of Seattle, WA; his mother – Cheryl Lee Lindmeier of Lacey, WA; two sisters – Bonnie Ellan Montgomery of Federal Way, WA and Cheryl Deborah Montgomery of Lacey, WA and an aunt – Mary Lee Carden of Holy Springs, GA.
He was preceded in death by his father, Allan Walton Montgomery, Sr. and his grandparents, Doc and Bonnie Montgomery.
