Alisa "Lisa" Dawn Usry Ries Alisa “Lisa” Dawn Usry Ries, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away on October 16, 2024, in Tupelo, MS. Born on September 29, 1955, in Ruleville, MS, Alisa lived a life filled with creativity, love, and dedication to her family and passions.

Having resided in Houlka, MS, Alisa was known for her free spirit and kind heart. Her love for sewing was renowned, and she shared her artistic talents with all who knew her. Alisa’s commitment to learning was evident through her pursuit of multiple degrees and certifications, a testament to her intellectual curiosity and drive for personal growth. Her passion for animals, especially dogs, was profound. Alisa not only cared for them but also turned her passion into a thriving business, raising and nurturing dogs that brought joy to many families.

Alisa was preceded in death by her loving mother, Jacquelyn Young Rhodes; her devoted stepfather, Curtis “Pete” Rhodes; and her cherished brothers, Curt and Scott Usry. She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion, survived by her children, Paul Crabtree III, Michelle Crabtree Lucius, Lauryn Stewart, Sara Stewart, and Analisa Matthews (Stewart); caring father, Curtis Usry; beloved sister, Patrice Usry Johnson; and many grand and great-grandchildren. All who will continue to uphold her memory and the values she instilled in them.

Her family and friends will forever remember Alisa for her warm heart, unwavering support, and the joy she brought into their lives. As they gather to celebrate her life, they take comfort in knowing she is reunited with those who have gone before her.

A memorial service will be held to honor Alisa’s live and contributions to her family on Tuesday, October 29th at Faith Outreach Church in Okolona, MS. Visitation will be held from 5-6pm and services will begin at 6pm.
