In loving memory of Alice Virginia Millsap, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who touched the lives of many with her kindness and selflessness. Alice passed away on March 29, 2024, at New Albany Health and Rehab.
Alice was born in New Albany on April 1, 1937, to her parents Ann and Vera Millsap. She grew up surrounded by love and care which shaped her into the kind-hearted and nurturing individual she was known to be. Alice’s family meant the world to her, from her husband Tommy Lee Cullins to her sons Herbert and Robert, as well as her grandson Wesley Lee, granddaughter Aaliyah, and great-granddaughter Everlee Moon. She cherished every moment spent with them and found joy in simple pleasures like playing basketball with her grandchildren.
Throughout her life, Alice dedicated herself to serving others both as a housekeeper for doctors in the New Albany area and as a waitress. Her work ethic was unmatched, but it was her innate ability to care for those around her that truly set her apart. Whether it was through a warm meal or a listening ear, Alice always knew how to make people feel valued and loved.
Alice’s proudest accomplishments include being a faithful member of Union Grove Baptist Church in Pumpkin Center and Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, where she actively served on the usher board. Her commitment to her church community exemplified her caring and giving nature.
Outside of work, Alice found solace in simple yet meaningful hobbies such as tending to her yard, sewing beautiful creations, and expressing herself through painting. These activities brought out her creative spirit and allowed her to leave a piece of herself in everything she did.
Alice will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. In addition to her immediate family, she leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews who were touched by her warmth and grace. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her in return.
As we say goodbye to Alice Virginia Millsap, let us remember the legacy of love and compassion she leaves behind. May we honor her life by emulating the qualities that made her so special – kindness, generosity, and an unyielding dedication to family. Rest in peace, dear Alice, knowing that you were truly cherished.
