On Sunday, December 22, 2019, Alice Montgomery Dorries, of Huntsville, stepped into the arms of Jesus at the age of 76. Alice was born in Blytheville, Arkansas. On June 10, 1961, she married the boy next door and man of her dreams, Charles “Charlie” Dorries in Anniston. They journeyed together for 58 ½ years of marriage, spending most of their lives in Huntsville where they raised two children, Susan and Steven. Alice had a wonderful career at NASA, retiring after 30 years of service. She loved her family and friends, walking 5k races with her husband and No Boundaries buddies, along with Alabama football games with Charlie.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Major Hugh and Meta Montgomery, sister Meta Agnes Doran, and brother George H. Montgomery, She is survived by her loving husband Charlie and children Susan Dorries and Steven Dorries (Beverly Conrad), brother Hugh B. Montgomery (Susan), cousin John Hightower,“sisser” Cheryl Smith, niece Susie Montgomery, and many cherished sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
A brief visitation will be held at 1 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 2 pm, January 11, 2019 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home.
