Levena Foster Profile Photo Sis. Alice Levena Soden Foster, 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at her residence in Amory.  She was born on November 29, 1935, in Pocahontas, AR to Alfred Charles and Grace D. Jacob Soden.  From humble beginnings, she was born into a sharecropper’s family and lived in Mississippi County, AR later working in various local furniture factories.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  From 1980 until 1998, she was a devoted Pastor’s wife and along with her husband, Reverend William Foster whom she married on April 3, 1953, founded Smithville Pentecostal Church.  After his retirement, they became members of Nettleton Pentecostal Church and most recently she served as a faithful member and devoted prayer warrior at the Pentecostals of Okolona.

 

Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. at Nettleton Pentecostal Church with Reverend Larry Davis, Sister Debbie Davis, and Reverend Jason Salisbury officiating.  Burial will follow in Haughton Memorial Park in Amory.

 

She is survived by her children, Joanne Wiginton of Amory, Brenda Murphree of Amory, and David Foster (Sherry) of Amory; two brothers, Carlton Soden of Mantachie and Roy Lee Soden of Amory; sister, Elizabeth “Sissy” Ritter of Amory; 8 grandchildren, Latosha Hall (Bruce), Eric Wiginton (Shawn), Tonya Salisbury (Reverend Jason), Tishunda Foster, Ashley Foster, Reverend Jordan Wiginton (Kayla), Alison Lopez (Justin), and Tyler Foster; 16 great grandchildren, Brooklynn,  Bethany, and Sydney Hall, Jaiden and Sophie Wiginton, Olivia, Kamden, Weston Salisbury, Landon Roberts, Hunter Gray, Alaina and Cayson Wiginton, Kyland Cliburn, Aubree and Paisley Lopez.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Reverend William Foster; brothers, Henry and Levurn Soden; son-in-law, Roy Lynn Murphree; grandson, Kevin Wiginton; and great granddaughter, Savannah Hall.

Pallbearers will be Bruce Hall, Jordan Wiginton, Justin Lopez, Jaiden Wiginton, Kamden Salisbury, Landon Roberts, Hunter Gray, and Weston Salisbury.

 

Visitation will be on Thursday from 2 until the service hour at the church.

 

Memorials may be made to the Pentecostals of Okolona, Okolona, Mississippi.
