Alice Jo Ann Ross Altier – Obituary

Alice-Altier-1415700421, age 80 passed away November 11, 2014 at her home.
She was born November 20, 1933 at Luray in Chester County, the daughter of the late Mabon Earl and Ruby Jones Ross. She graduated Chester County High School in 1952. She moved to Chicago in 1955 and lived there 28 years where she did machinist work. She is the widow of Bill Altier. She moved back to Mifflin in 1983 where she has made her home since that time. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church for many years and was lay leader. She loved to garden and quilt.

She is survived by two sons, James E. (J.W.) Walker and wife Peg of Black Canyon City, AZ and Timothy Brocksome and wife Rena of Las Vegas, NV and also seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Beth Gibbons in 2004 and a brother, Little Earl Ross.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday November 15, 2014 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Bro. Jerry Smith officiating and burial will follow in Middlefork Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Friday.
