Alice Faye Burkhead Miller – Obituary

Alice-Miller-1463409248Alice Faye Burkhead Miller age 75 passed away May 15, 2016 at her daughter’s home.

She was born January 6, 1941 in Chester County, the Montezuma Community, the daughter of the late John Andrew and Lula Bell Waldrop Burkhead. She graduated Chester County High School in 1959. She was a homemaker for many years and then worked in the garment industry at Kap III and Chester County Sportswear, then Delta Faucet where she retired in 2006.

She loved country line dancing and was a member of Rockabilly Rockers. She loved to water ski and visit the ocean.

She was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Henderson.

She was a fun loving person and always brought a smile from whom ever she was with.

Mrs. Miller is survived by a daughter, Debbie Shepperd Climer and husband Tony of Finger; four grandchildren, Kristin Patterson (Josh), Morgan Patterson (Reggie), Miles Shepperd (Kacey) and Blake Climer (Spring); four great grandchildren, Lillie Kate Patterson, Jillian Patterson, Kenleigh Patterson and Wyatt Shepperd; four brothers, Buck Burkhead, Tony Burkhead, Dub Burkhead and Kenneth Burkhead all of Henderson and a sister, Bonnie Cook Davis of Henderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Ruby Jewell Burkhead.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Clint Burkhead officiating. Burial will follow in Montezuma Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Tuesday.
