Alice Dexter Hester, 83, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Sunday, December 8, 2013, at Southern Magnolia Estates in Iuka. She was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church. She was a talented homemaker that enjoyed cooking, canning, embroidery, sewing, and quilting. Visitation is scheduled for 5 until 9 PM on Monday, December 09 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 AM on Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Doug Christie. Interment will follow in New Prospect Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Survivors include 1 son – Thomas L. “Tommy” Hester (Shelia) of Iuka; and 1 sister – Jimmie Hampton of Iuka. She was preceded in death her husband, Thomas O. Hester; her parents, James and Mirtie Dexter; two brothers; and one sister. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Prospect Cemetery Fund.
