Alice Curry Haggard, 94, of Scotts Hill, TN, passed away on June 18, 2016 in Lexington, TN. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 pm June 19, 2016 at Pafford Funeral Home in Scotts Hill, TN. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on June 20, 2016, at Pafford Funeral Home, Scotts Hill, with the Rev. Rick Snyder of Scotts Hill United Methodist Church. officiating. Burial will follow at Peace Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements are by Pafford Funeral Home.
Alice was born in Decatur County, TN, to James Curry and Mamie Currin Curry on March 24, 1922. She graduated from Scotts Hill High School. Alice married Chessie Thomas Haggard on December 21, 1945, in Corinth, Mississippi. She worked in many garment factories over her 43 year working career. Alice was involved in United Methodist Women, and many other church related groups. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister Dallas Williams.
Alice is survived by son, Freddy M. Haggard and daughter-in-law Mary P. Adkins Haggard of Raleigh, NC, grandchildren Neal Andrew Haggard (married to Alisa Foy Haggard) of Holly Springs, NC, Paul David Haggard (married to Amanda Banks Haggard) of Murfreesboro, TN, great-grandchildren Sydney Emeline Haggard and Reilly Forrest Haggard of Holly Springs, NC, and sister Opal Pratt of Scotts Hill, TN.
