Mrs. Alfredia Blalock, 94 of Florence, passed away on Tuesday, December 31st, 2024. Service will be held on Sunday, January 5 at the Elkins Funeral Home in Florence beginning at 2pm. Visitation will begin at 1pm. Burial will immediately follow the service at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens in Florence. Mrs. Blalock’s grandson, Christopher Blalock, is to officiate the service.
Mrs. Blalock was born in Pocahontas, Arkansas to the late Benjamin Franklin Henson and Birdie Henson Johnson. She was a homemaker for her entire life.
Along with her parents, Mrs. Blalock is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Noble Blalock; a son, Randy Michael Blalock; brothers, Herrold and Franklin Henson; and a sister, Alta Tippett.
Survivors include her daughter, Angela Keeton (Larry); sons, Charles, Barry and Richard Blalock; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Larry Keeton, Joseph Keeton, Tyler Chandler, Danny Tippett, Dale Schulte, and Phillip Henson.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Letson and Danny Arnold.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the nurses and staff of Southern Care New Beacon hospice for their wonderful care; especially Misty who brightened Mrs. Blalock’s day with laughter and good conversation. Thanks also to Sherri Tippett for without you, I would be lost. They would also like to extend thanks to Twyla Hyde for your spiritual and daily prayers that you provided.
It took a village to care for Mrs. Blalock. Her village of caregivers were Jennifer, Bridget, Delores, Marylynn, Rhonda and Simona. The family is truly grateful and will never forget you.
