Alfred L. “Gitto” Von Boeckman – Obituary

Alfred-L-Von-Boeckman-1453135476Alfred L. “Gitto” Von Boeckman, age 89, of Tuscumbia died Saturday, January 16, 2016. His family will receive friends, Tuesday, January, 19, 2016, 12-2 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Ed White officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia.

“Gitto” affectionately known as “Pop” and “PaPa”, was a native of Memphis, TN, but live in Tuscumbia most of his life. He served in the U. S. Army Air Corp during WWII and was a member of Valdosta Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife; Bernice Burke Von Boeckman, daughter; Wanda Sue Shearin, parents; Guido and Betty Von Boeckman, son-in-law; Bobby Jack Williams, sisters; Edna Reaves and Noval Elease Von Boeckman.

He is survived by his son; Kenny Von Boeckman (Penny), daughters; Lois Ann Willis (Charles), Donna Williams, Vicki Kirchner (David), son-in-law; Tom Shearin, grandchildren; Bradley Willis, Jason Williams, Michelle Kayel, Tommya Shearin, Emmy Wilson, Alexis Williams and Skyler Kirchner; five great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers are Brad Willis, Skyler Kirchner, Nathan Wilson, Charles Willis, Tom Shearin and Jerry Reaves.

The Von Boeckman family would like to express special thanks to Hospice of North Alabama, especially Kassie Brown, Sandy Pitts and Dr. Brad McAnally.
