Alfred John RossiAlfred John Rossi, 84, of Huntsville, passed away Wednesday. He graduated from Ouray High School in Colorado in 1954, and from Washington University in St. Louis in 1959. Mr. Rossi worked at Point Mugu for the Navy for five years, and for the Army at Redstone Arsenal for 35 years on the Lance Project and MLRS.

Mr. Rossi was a lovely person, and an active member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church where he was a Eucharistic Minister and Sacristan, and ran the recycling shed. He was a founding member and benefactor of John Paul II Catholic High School. He worked for Habitat for Humanity and CASA. He was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, and a Boy Scout leader during the 1980s.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Kathryn Rossi; son, Richard A. Rossi; daughters, Elizabeth Spatafora (Joey) and Mary K. Rossi; and grandchildren, Anna, Gioia, and Nicolas Spatafora. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Levy Rossi, and sisters, Helen O’Dea and Anne Barker.

A memorial service will be planned at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Spirit Chapel Building Fund or the St. Vincent de Paul Society at Holy Spirit.
