Mr. Alfred Hereford, Sr. Mr. Alfred Hereford, Sr. was born December 5, 1938 in Madison County, Alabama. He passed this life on May 8, 2024.

He was educated in the Huntsville City Schools and graduated from Council High School.  He was a member of the New Hope Outreach Ministries.  Alfred retired from the U.S. Army after giving 22 years of devoted service to his country, 20 years in Civil Service and 20 years as a member of the Redstone Arsenal Security Force.  He enjoyed good conversations, watching sports and watching the soap operas “Young and the Restless” and “Bold and Beautiful” were his favorites.

His father, Randolph Oscar; mother, Elizabeth Battle Hereford; wife, Thelma Hereford; son, Eric Hereford; brother, Oscar Hereford; and grandson, Kieran Hereford, all preceded him in death. Those remaining to cherish his memory are: sons: Alfred Hereford, Jr. and Christion   Hereford; sister, Edna (Courtney) Saunders; grandson, Alfred Hereford, Jr.; niece, Felicia (Barry) Kaigler; nephews, Gary (Donna) Saunders, Glenn Gurley, Frederick Hereford; sister-in-law, Harriet Rakes; great granddaughters: Aaliya and Ella Hereford; very dear friends Ronnie (“Bud”) Ezell, and Joe (“Pedee”) Lacy as well as a host of other family and friends.

Alfred’s passing is a loss to all who knew him.  He will be remembered for his kind heart, his loyalty and love for his family.

Rest in peace, thank you and we love you.

The memorial service for Mr. Alfred Hereford, Sr., will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 18, 2024 at the Royal Chapel of Memories (4315 Oakwood Avenue NW Huntsville, AL 35810).

There will be no public viewing.
