Alex Jenkins, Jr., 66, was born in Nashville, Tennessee on January 31, 1956, and departed this life on December 17, 2022, at Life Care Center of Columbia, Tennessee.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 20th at 2:00pm at Heritage Funeral Home with Brother Lazerius “Herb” Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 1:00pm until the 2:00pm service. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Alex was the son of the late Alex and Katie Lee Jenkins. He graduated from Columbia State Community College with an Associate’s degree in History and from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelors of Business Management. He also received a certification of Banking and Finance from Vanderbilt University. He was an avid traveler who loved going to Europe, around the United States, and especially the western parts of the country. He worked for Pathgroup until his death. He also gave his life to Christ before his death.
He is survived by his devoted sister, Velma Chinoda and devoted brother-in-law, Reverend Dr. Peri Chinoda; devoted nieces, Consuela and Ketura Oden, Katrina Christmon; nephews, Karsten “Rudy” Christmon and Bernard “Jug” Oden II; and several great nephews and nieces.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Annie Lee Sawyers.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in Alex Jenkins Jr.’s honor.
