Alene Wright, 78, of Moulton, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2024 surrounded by her family. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Jones Chapel Cemetery.
Born on July 3, 1945 to the late Lester and Lila Tolar Vanderford, Alene volunteered at the Moulton Senior Center, fixing meals for the home-bound and the ones at the center. She also loved working in her flower beds and vegetable garden.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years Clifton “Pete” Wright; daughter, Gail (Tim) Howe; grandchildren, Melissa Howe, Rebecca “Becca” (Steven) Hopkins, Ashley “Ash” Howe; great-granddaughter, Emma Reding; brother, William (Katie) Vanderford; nephew, Dwight Vanderford, and extended family.
Alene was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, James Vanderford.
Pallbearers will be friends and family.
