Alene Hughes Keith, age 95 of Fort Payne, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023. Mrs. Keith was born on December 3, 1927 in DeKalb County to the late Alvin & Velma Beaty Hughes. She was the last living charter member of Delmar Missionary Baptist Church. She was best known for selling socks at Trade Day for more than 30 years.
Funeral services will be 3p.m., Monday, June 12, 2023 at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roger Redden officiating. Burial will follow in the Adamsburg Cemetery.
She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Rodney & Cindi Keith; grandson, Kyle Keith and wife, Mariah; great-grandchildren, Ryland Keith, Landry Keith and Aly Keith; brothers, Alvin “Junior” Hughes and Johnnie Lee Hughes; sisters, Nellie Kelley and Sarah Eberhart; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ward Keith; parents; sister, Molvelean Greenwood; and brothers, Laymon Hughes and Roy Gene Hughes.
