Aleen Baughman Mobley, age 101, of Athens passed away Saturday, July 29, 2023 at her residence. She was born February 1, 1922 in Limestone County to Robert Walter Baughman and Martha Henderson Baughman. Her parents preceded her in death as well as three sisters, Thelma Morgan, Mary Cowgill, and Jean Baughman.
She was one of the founders of the Raleigh SDA Church in Memphis, Tn. She was the only living founder until today. She and her children moved from Memphis TN in 1960 and joined the local Athens SDA Church. She attended off and on from that time until a few years ago when she was unable to come due to mental and physical problems. Ms. Mobley loved the Lord.
She has two children, one daughter, Irene Collins and a son, William (Bill) Mobley. Two Grand-Children Ken Collins (June) and Andrea Colburn (Brandon); three great grandchildren Nicholas Collins (Nicole), Nathaniel Collins (Amanda), Ella Colburn; four great-great grandchildren, Allison Collins, Lindsay Collins, Macie and Jackson Collins.
The funeral service will be at McConnell Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at 2 p.m. with Kenneth Araya officiating. The visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
