Albert Julian Boyer, 83, of Huntsville, passed away Sunday, Nov. 28, 2021. Mr. Boyer was born in Hartford, CT to Elmer Joseph Boyer and Celina Caissie Boyer. He graduated from Pennsylvania Military College, now Widener University, in West Chester, PA in 1960, with a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering. He earned a Master of Science in Management from Rensselaer Polytech Institute in 1970. Mr. Boyer served in the Army for 22 years with three years in Europe, two tours in Vietnam, was decorated several times, and retired as a Major from the Patriot Missile Defense system. He spent over 40 years in business development, marketing, management, and execution of research, design, testing, fielding and logistics activities in support of Army weapon system acquisition programs. Retirement brought time to leisurely travel, visit old friends, visit grandchildren in Hawaii and New York city, golf, and oil paint. Survivors include his wife, Flo Boyer; sons, AJ, Jr. and Paul; daughters, Cindy M. Flores and husband, Ken, and Tiffany B. Hill and husband, Julius; grandchildren, Jonathan, Elijah, Sarah, Summer, and Cillian; three bonus grandsons; nine bonus great-grandchildren; brother, Dr. Richard Boyer and wife, Peggy; niece, Leah; and numerous cousins. His sister, Leah Jadovich preceded him in death. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 17, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, with the funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. in the sanctuary. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Thomas Episcopal Church (which serves Huntsville Outreach Programs), 12200 Bailey Cove Rd, Hsv., 35803.
