Albert G. “Gerald” Banks, 83 of Madison, AL, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2024, in his home in Madison, AL.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Michael Banks and Rev. Bill Stone of Isom’s Chapel officiating. Burial will follow at Huntsville Memory Gardens.
Mr. Banks was born in Fayette County Georgia to Albert and Vera Banks on April 25, 1941. He received his GED and served in the US Navy from 1958 to 1964. He worked as a Civil Service employee for the federal government at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville AL for 34 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his family. He was very patriotic and loved God and country.
Mr. Banks is survived by his wife, Jackie of Madison, AL; children, Michael Banks (Cathy), and Melissa McGriff (Steve); grandchildren, Tiffany (Ryan), Grant (Katelyn), Olivia, and Hunter (Kylie); five great-grandchildren; and sisters, Wendy Gatlin (Jack) and Charlotte Cash (Joe). He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Vera Banks.
