  Albert Dan Rushing Profile PhotoAlbert Dan Rushing, age 92, of Jackson passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, September 29, 2024.

 He was born in Jackson, TN on December 1, 1931, to the late Albert Neal and Carrie Walker Rushing.

Dan was a beloved brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by those who loved him.

Dan is survived by his granddaughter, Taylor Marie Rushing; daughter-in-law Kathy Harber; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bettye Jo Nanney; his son, Steven Dan Rushing; a granddaughter, Shelby Lynne Rushing; three sisters, fraternal twin Nancy Ann Rushing Bell (Cooper) Williams (Joseph Burton), Dorothy (Bob) Wilson, and Annette (Pete) McNeal; and three brothers, Richard (Betty) Rushing, Chester (Pat) Rushing and Jimmy (Barbara) Rushing.

Dan attended Northside High School and graduated in 1949. He worked for GM&O Railroad and Consolidated Aluminum and served in the Tennessee National Guard Reserves. He was a life-long member of Poplar Heights Baptist Church. Dan was an avid gardener and Tennessee Vols football fan. He enjoyed visits to his cabin on the river with family and friends. He was very active in his church when his health allowed and enjoyed teaching his Sunday School “old men’s” class.

SERVICES: Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 3, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends on Thursday, beginning at 11:00 a.m. continuing until 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the Rushing Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be directed to the American Cancer Society, or to a charity of your choice.

Dan will forever hold a special place in the hearts of all that knew and loved him.
