Mr. Alan “Leo” Bonnell, Jr. age 94, died April 3, 2015 at Falkville Nursing Home.
The family will receive friends Tuesday April 7, 2015 at 6:00pm at Peck Funeral Home for a tribute jam session and memorial service with Rev. Michael Gunter officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Bonnell was born January 19, 1921 in Kalamazoo, Mi. to Alan L. and Minerva Flegal Bonnell.
He was preceded in death by his parents of Alamo. Mi.; his wife Donna of Plainwell, Mi.;
his sister Ruth Tidd of Hartselle, Al.; brothers Leslie of Gobles, Mi. and Max of Otsego, Mi.
He is survived by his son Ron Bonnell and his wife Sandy of Decatur, ,Al.
One brother Dale Bonnell of The Villages, Fl.
3 Grandsons: Cameron Bonnell (Kim) of Orange, Ca.
Shane Alexander (Shelly) of Hartselle, Al.
Shad Alexander (Regina) of Decatur, Al.
7 Great Grandchildren
He will also be missed by his special friends Kay and Arlo Sharp
During World War II Leo served with the Army in the South Pacific.
His passion was music and musical instruments which he collected and also built.
A memorial service will be held in Plainwell, Mi. at a later date.
