Alan D. Turner of Jackson, TN passed away February 14, 2024, after a short illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert W. Turner and Betty J. Turner of Jackson.

 

Alan attended Northside High School and graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin. After college, he began a career in farming and later raising Beefmaster cattle. He also worked for Consolidated Aluminum Corporation (Ormet Aluminum) for several years. He later obtained his contractor’s license and established Turner Building Concepts, LLC. Alan developed the Cambridge Place subdivision in Medina, TN. He raised two daughters with Debbie Daniels Turner, to whom he was married for 24 years.

 

Alan enjoyed iced unsweet tea, reading an actual newspaper, and “getting his money’s worth”, especially at a buffet. He was an avid water and snow skier. He enjoyed fishing and camping on his farm. He loved to cook and grill for his friends and family. He was hard-working and willing to help anyone who needed it.

 

Alan leaves behind his two beloved daughters, Allison M. Turner and Brittany T. Mangum (Kyle) and his grandchildren Juliet, Penelope, and Elliot. He also leaves behind his brother, Harris Turner (Belinda) and nephew, Cain Turner (Amanda).

 

A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors
