It is important for people to know that you do not have to be a senior citizen to qualify for the program, so anyone who thinks they may qualify should contact their local Area Agency on Aging Office.”

You must meet ONE set of the following criteria: (1) If you are 55+ and have a chronic medical condition(s) and have no prescription drug coverage, and meet certain income limits; OR (2) If you have a disability at any age as long as you have been deemed disabled by Social Security, applied for disability, or have a doctor’s declaration of disability. You may also qualify if you are in the 24-month Medicare waiting period or have reached the coverage gap (donut hole) of your Medicare Part D Prescription Drug coverage.
