THE SHOALS-The Alabama Wildlife Federation has announced that the annual Alabama Wildlife Federation Quad Cities Wild Game Cook-Off will once again be held at the Longhorn Arena. The Cook-Off is scheduled for March 16.
Entering the competition is free. To be entered into the event cook teams must register prior to the event. This can be done at AWF.
The competition includes three categories, wild game, fish and fowl. Trophies will be awarded to the first three places in each category and a best and overall trophy presentation with the overall winner invited to the state finals which will be held in Lanark in Millbrook on August 10 where they will compete for the State Champion title..
The Cook-Off is held each year to raise funds to support the Alabama Wildlife Federation and to allow non-member to learn more about the AWF and the work they do.
Tickets for the event are $35 for two adults and can be purchased at alabamawildlife.org or can be purchased at the door or by calling Greg Burgess at 256.764.0078.
During the event there will be a silent auction as well as a raffle for a shotgun and a rifle. The event starts at 4PM on March 16 and the price of a ticket includes one membership to AWF and a subscription to Wildlife magazine. Of course as usual the admission to the event includes all the food you can eat.
