MONTGOMERY-The Alabama State Parks Foundation invites you to #OptOutside for Black Friday and visit your favorite Alabama State Park. If getting outside is not an option for you then we hope you consider making a donation to the Alabama State Parks Foundation as an #OptOutside gesture or end of year gift.
The Alabama State Parks Foundation hosts a community of people who love our State Parks. Members of the Foundation are people dedicated to building and sustaining a great, statewide park system. To learn more about their mission and how you can help support through community projects and charitable giving during the holiday season, please visit the Alabama State Parks Foundation.
Community projects involving the Alabama State Parks Foundation play a vital role and help cultivate partnerships with people and organizations that provide better park experiences for our guests. The recent installation of color corrective lenses by EnChroma at Oak Mountain State Park is a great example of this.
The Alabama State Parks Foundation can also provide personal tributes in honor of friends or loved ones as an alternative holiday gift. Any and all ideas are welcomed for a tribute in the form of a memorial. However, there are many common park amenities that can be chosen such as park benches, pavilions, cabins, trails, etc. Recent examples of these include:
- William Lawrence Lamey Memorial Bench at Oak Mountain State Park
- McFarland Memorial Trail at Lake Lurleen State Park
- Wells Family land donation and trail dedication at Monte Sano State Park
Although often overlooked, a giving option that you may want to consider is a legacy gift. You can contact the Alabama State Parks Foundation with your ideas on how to continue your conservation efforts far after your lifetime with a gift through your estate. Leaving a gift to the Alabama State Parks Foundation through your will enables you to make a gift that will benefit people, plants and wildlife for generations.
Happy Holidays and thanks for your support!
