FLORENCE-Voted one of the top 20 events in the Southeast during the month of October, the Alabama Renaissance Faire is a premier event that transforms Wilson Park into Fountain-on-the-Green for an entire weekend. It is common to find pirates, fairies, trolls, maidens, kings, and everything in between roaming the park during this exciting event. Vendors, demonstrators, and performers will be situated throughout the park for the entire event. Everyone is welcome – especially those clothed in Renaissance attire!
Held in Wilson Park (renamed Fountain-on-the-Green on weekend of the faire), the Alabama Renaissance Faire draws 30,000– 35,000 people each year and is designated as one of the Top 20 Events in the Southeast, giving it recognition by more than 800 media outlets throughout the region. It is always held on the fourth Saturday and Sunday in October, taking advantage of the balmy weather and the gorgeous fall foliage in the park. The dates for the Faire are Saturday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. – 6 p.m October 28 and 29.
