THE SHOALS – After suffering an ignominious closing last year, the Alabama Music hall of Fame is poised to reopen this Friday. State of Alabama officials say it will be better than ever.
The Hall of Fame, located on Highway 72, in Tuscumbia, will hold an official Ribbon Cutting at 10:00 am Friday. Rick Hall, the father of Muscle Shoals music, and recording artists, The Secret Sisters will do the honors. On hand will be world famous Swampers, David Hood and Jimmy Johnson and Grammy Winning recording artist John Paul White.
Alabama State Tourism Director, Lee Sentell will be there to announce that Governor Robert Bentley is issuing a proclamation saying that October 18th is “Celebrate Muscle Shoals Music Day” in the state of Alabama.
Later on Friday at 6:00pm, a public premier party for the movie “MUSCLE SHOALS” , will get underway at the Carmike Cinemas in Florence. There will be autograph signings by Hall, Hood and Johnson, among others before the first screening, which stars at 7:00 .
