Fact One: This is the first time in the history of the Hall that the Induction Banquet will be held in The Shoals.
Fact Two: To (almost) quote Jerry Stiller, “We’re back, Baby!”
It is going to be a great event, and now we can all start getting our tickets for this historical moment in Alabama Music.
Table sponsorships and individual tickets for the 2014 Alabama Music Hall of Fame Induction Banquet go on sale Monday and will be available through Florence Lauderdale Tourism. The black-tie event, which will be held at the Marriott Shoals Conference Center on February 28, was moved from Birmingham to the Shoals area at the request of Gov. Robert Bentley in recognition of the critically-acclaimed Muscle Shoals documentary and to show support for the Hall of Fame.muscle shoals the movie
Event coordinator Judy Hood expects the event to sell out quickly. “Demand for tickets is already strong and they haven’t officially gone on sale yet.” Ticket sales will begin at 9 a.m. Monday.

“We are honored that Gov. Bentley chose to have the banquet in the Shoals,” said Hood. “We worked closely with the Marriott Shoals event planning staff to configure the rooms in a manner that accommodates the maximum number of people.”

Goals of the evening are to raise money to sustain the hall of fame and celebrate achievements of the inductees and past and present Shoals musicians. AMHOF board chairman Bill Newton said six music veterans with strong ties to Alabama will be honored.
Florence’s Grammy-winning John Paul White will emcee the event. White and other members of the banquet music committee are finalizing the list of performers and that information will be announced soon.
For more information or to purchase tickets call the Florence Lauderdale Tourism office at 256-740-4141.
