tickets for the 2016 Induction Banquet and Awards Show will go on sale today, Tuesday, February 9, at 9 a.m. The banquet is scheduled for Friday, February 26, at the Marriott Shoals Conference Center in Florence.

The AMHOF board typically offers the banquet tickets for sale to the public after corporate sponsorships have been finalized. “First and

foremost, this banquet is held to honor the inductees,” said AMHOF director Dixie Griffin. “But it is also our primary fundraiser, so financial support from major sponsors is critical. Corporate support was very strong this year and exceeded our expectations.”

Corporate sponsorships for this year’s event ranged from $5,000 to $25,000. AMHOF Board member Judy Hood said the local business community suggested

that the board be a bit more “ambitious” in sponsorship price tags this year since the 2014 banquet sold out so quickly.

“We are grateful that so many businesses are partnering with AMHOF to provide the funding we need to remain viable,” said State Tourism Director Lee Sentell who serves as treasurer for the AMHOF Board. “Music tourism boosts the state and local economy and AMHOF is a key element in the mix.”

“The revenue generated from this banquet helps us maintain the museum and expand our outreach,” said Griffin. “This funding allows us to offer free and reasonably priced activities for thousands of people throughout the year.”

The individual tickets that go on sale Tuesday will be priced at $200. Griffin said there are a handful of $5,000 tables left. The ticket includes a pre-event cocktail reception in the main lobby of the Marriott Shoals Conference Center, a gourmet dinner and performances by world-class musicians who are Alabama natives.

Grammy nominee Gary Nichols will emcee this year’s event. The producer for this year’s show is Andreas Werner who has coordinated several sold-out concerts featuring the Muscle Shoals All-Stars, including performances in Poretta, Italy, and the Lincoln Center in New York.

“Based on our experience with the 2014 banquet, we expect a quick sellout,” said Griffin. To purchase a ticket, call the Alabama Music Hall of Fame at 256-381-4417.
