Agnes Marne Herron 101, was born in Fayette County, Alabama to Carl and Dolly Studdard. She died at her home in Jasper, Alabama peacefully under the watchful eye of her daughter, Shirley and sister Josey, one month shy of her 102nd birthday. She married Vester Macon Herron. From that marriage they had Ganius, Rayford, Johnny, Sue Frye, Ricky, Donnie and Shirley Sullivan. 20 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 34 great great grandchildren.
Marne would tell all those grandchildren about the “Hard Times” she had experienced, but yet tell you, they were “Great Times”. Many school reports were written from those real life stories she had shared. Her mind and memory were incredibly clear until the end. She was crafted in many ways, with a love for quilts, sewing machines and clocks. She cooked the “Old fashion” way, her “chocolate gravy and biscuit” were quite famous. Her children and grandchildren were her life.
Marne had worked outside of the home for many years, she worked until the young age of 90, where she worked for the Bishop Company. She was used as an example of a good employee, her work attendance and work ethic was very strong.
Her family are as follows, deceased spouse, Vester Macon Herron children, Rayford, Johnny, Sue Tubbs, Ricky, Donnie. Parents, Carl and Dolly Studdard, brothers, Aubrey, Forrest, Terry McAuthur, Leland, Bobby. Sisters, Lois, Lillian Jenkins, Florence Johnson.

Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday, March 11, 2021 from 11:30 a.m. till 1:00 p.m at Collins-Burke Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel. Dr. Josh Boshell will officiate. Burial will be at Studdard’s Cross Roads in Fayette County, Alabama. The family requests that those in attendance wear masks and practice safe distance out of respect to those at risk for COVID.
Pall bearers will be Tony Tubbs, Mark Herron, Ray Herron, Scott Herron, Rick Elmore, Ken Bynum, Darrell Piper and Kenny Studdard.
