Agnes (“Aggie” or “Ag”) Leota Lindeman, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2024, at age 90. Aggie (an identical twin of Inez Proper) was born on July 31, 1934, in Aliceville, Kansas. She was the daughter of the late Joe and Hazel (Jasper) Hunt.
Agnes was known for her unique spirit, her goodness and at times, her willingness to over share. She spent most of her life as a housewife, raising four sons.
In early 1935, Aggie’s family moved to Woodson County, Kansas, and in 1944, they moved to Yates Center where she graduated from Yates Center High School in 1952.
Aggie married John William Lindeman on December 27, 1956. Shortly thereafter, Aggie and John lived in Chicago for a couple of years while John attended DeVry Institute of Technology. They later settled in Wichita, Kansas, for a couple of years before resettling in Huntsville, Alabama, in the early 1960s.
Ag was preceded by her husband John in November 2000, her parents Joe and Hazel, and her sisters Leila Hunt VanHoozer and Inez Hunt Proper.
Aggie is survived by her sons, Jerry Lindeman (Debbie) of Athens, Max Lindeman, Rex Lindeman of Atlanta, and Joe Lindeman (Karna) of Clarksville, TN; nieces, Sue VanHoozer Peterson-Blythe of Berea, KY, and Rita Proper of Kansas City; nephews, Reggie VanHoozer (Sherry) of Greater Atlanta, Jim VanHoozer (Kathy) of Kansas City, and Ray Proper (Shiela) of Chanute, KS.
Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024, from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM at Hazel Green Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM at Maple Hill Cemetery.
